Press Note on CLAT-2014 - Highly Unapologetic

Some important things to be observed about the Clarification - CLAT 2014 Results (GNLU Press Note No. 31/2014)

1. The tone of the Press Note is highly autocratic. There is no sense of apology whatsoever.

2. The Press Note states that "the candidates were required to put the barcode sticker". Was it the case? In my Exam Centre, the Invigilators came and pasted the Barcode Sticker.

3. Even if we assume that Barcode Stickers were mismatched, one could not digest the fact that such was the case with a majority of the candidates and such mismatch occurred on a mass scale in most of the Examination Centres. What does this imply?

4. The Press Note states that "The process integrity and confidentiality standards adopted by the CLAT -2014 Secretariat are very high". What does this convey? Does it mean we, the aspirants are responsible for this and the CLAT Secretariat has nothing to do with it?

5. Such a flowery and euphemistic Press Note. It says "CLAT -2014 Secretariat appreciates hundreds of compliments and suggestion from candidates". I doubt 'hundreds', let alone one, would have complimented CLAT Secretariat for conducting the exam in this manner.

In the end, I would like to clear that I am not suggesting any kind of fraud or I am not intending to incite any feeling of hatred towards the CLAT Secretariat. The only point I am trying to make is:

1. That there was some of level of mismanagement in organizing this exam and the students are in no way responsible for this.

2. The responsibility rests solely with the people who are organizing CLAT. The least they could do is apologize or accept the mistake on their part.

However, we should not totally discredit this Press Note. It suggests that Scanned Copied of OMR Sheets will be made available with our marks. I am sure that by watching our OMR Sheets, we should be able to allay our most of the doubts and fears.

The best solution would be to wait for the corrected results. The best case scenario would be if after seeing the corrected results, we feel satisfied with the result.

Best of Luck!
